Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 10/21/2016
Eureka – The conditions have been too dangerous for anglers to attempt trips to the cape. Hopefully there will be a window next week for a last Cape run of the 2016 season.
Trinidad – The ocean has been too big for any anglers to have a good shot at landing fish. Trinidad Rockfish Wars, a kayak angling competition, takes place tomorrow the 21st.
Smith – The Smith is providing anglers in Humboldt County with the best chance at landing King Salmon and Steelhead. The water is in perfect condition and the fish are starting to hole up, the bite should be great over the weekend.
Mad River – The next series of rainstorms will raise the river up to unfishable levels this weekend. Early November looks to be the best opportunity unless anglers are able to beat the next storm.
Eel River – The Eel is still too muddy to fish and isn’t expected to clear until early November.
