Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 10/23/2015
Salmon fishing along the Klamath and Trinity rivers has slowed down as we await the next rainfall. Steelhead fishing has remained decent but not fantastic as the water levels have dropped. Rain has been predicted to hit Wednesday and should move more fish up the rivers and hopefully improve the fishing.
Rockfish/ Ling Cod
The weather has prevented most anglers from Rockfishing this week but Saturday should provide a decent option with wind predicted at only 5kts and swells at a moderate 5ft at 13 seconds. When conditions allow, the fishing has been good with a nice grade of fish. Many of the large female Lingcod cruise into the shallows at this time of the year and most of the Lings I caught last week were full of roe. As Rockfishing in the Northern Management Area comes to a close at the end of this month we remain vigilant and hopeful for any remaining openings in the weather.
