Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 10/7/2016

Reports

Oceans:

Shelter Cove – With the Salmon and Rockfish bite slow, the warm water 40 miles out is enticing some anglers into Tuna runs this week.

Eureka – The Rockfish bite has been hot down at Cape Mendocino with a nice grade of Lingcod and a variety of Rockfish.

Trinidad – The weather has prevented most anglers from fishing the past few days, but a nice window may open up early this week. The Lingcod bite has been slow but nice sized fish are being caught, the Rockfish bite remains decent.

Rivers:

Klamath – The fishing has been slow over the past week as the river mouth refuses to stay open. The quota has been met for the upper Klamath river, so no fish over 22 inches are to be kept.

Trinity – The Salmon and Steelhead bite along the Trinity is heating up. Both boat based and bank anglers have reported success with spinners and spoons.
