Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 1/8/2016
Smith – The Smith river is currently the best option for anglers in pursuit of a Steelhead. The Smith river is still a nice green color and has been producing fresh salty Steelhead daily! The water quality is predicted to remain high but green for the next week.
Trinity – The Trinity river water quality has remained fairly clear compared to the other Humboldt County river systems and provides anglers with a decent shot at landing a Steelhead. Last week the Trinity River Hatchery Trapping Summary reported 239 total Steelhead whereas this week they only reported 96 Steelhead.
Eel/South Fork – Both the Eel and South Fork rivers are blown out and with the expected forecast it is expected these river systems will remain muddy until next week.
Mad – Last weekend produced a good amount of Steelhead for anglers along the Mad river. The predicted rainfall over the next week will prevent most anglers from fishing but the river should hopefully clear up by next weekend.
