Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 2/26/2016

Reports

Salmon/Steelhead

Smith – The Smith river is currently extremely clear and the fishing success has been minimal. The rain forecast for the next week should provide a nice bump in Smith river system and potentially improve the fishing conditions.

Trinity -The Trinity river reports have mostly been of spawned-out fish making their way back down. Unless we see a large push of water in the next few weeks, the fishing season on the Trinity river may remain poor.

Eel/South Fork -The main stem of the Eel river is currently a nice green color but is still fairly high. The South Fork is a perfect green color with reports of mixed success as far up as Leggett. The upper portion of the river should benefit from the expected rainfall this weekend.

Mad – The Mad river fishing conditions are decent with water clarity improving daily. The rain over the weekend is not expected to ruin the river conditions and could get some new fishing into the river system.
