Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 2/5/2016
Smith – The Smith still remains the best bet in Humboldt County. The water levels are high but the water is green and full of fresh Steelhead. Boats are doing very well and averaging 5 fish per boat.
Trinity – The Trinity water conditions are definitely fish-able but remain on the high side. Now that the water has had a chance to clear anglers have been successful in landing Steelhead.
Eel/South Fork -The South Fork by Leggett is currently the only water clear enough to fish but the fork and main stem are expected to turn green at the beginning of next week and should provide anglers with one of the best chances at landing a Steelhead on the South Fork/Eel all season.
Mad – The Mad river is still too high and muddy to fish with bait but it is expected to clear around the middle of next week. So far anglers have reported a mixture of both fresh bright Steelhead and older darker Steelhead.
