Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 7/1/2016

Reports

Oceans:

Rockfish – Rockfishing has dramatically improved in Trinidad with many nice sized Lingcod showing up. Shelter Cove and the Cape continue to produce limits when the conditions allow.

Salmon – Salmon fishing is currently closed North of Horse Mountain to the Oregon Border. This past week has presented one of the best bites in the last couple years. Kayakers and power boaters were nailing 25-30 pound fish in the Bay in only 12 ft of water for the past week.

Halibut – Halibut season opens July 1st but with less than ideal ocean conditions, it may be a few days before anglers attempt to catch Pacific Halibut.

Dungeness Crab – Dungeness crab fishing has slowed down and has not been as hot as the previous few weeks.
