Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 7/15/2016

Reports

Oceans:

Rockfish – The Rockfish bite from Shelter Cove to the Cape remains phenomenal with easy limits. Trinidad requires a little more work to catch limits but the fishing is still good.

Salmon – Salmon is set to reopen on Saturday North of Horse Mountain, the conditions look ideal for King Salmon. There are massive clouds of bait from Eureka up to Trinidad with perfect water clarity and temperature. These favorable conditions will hopefully translate to a productive Salmon season for the next two weeks.

Pacific Halibut – Halibut fishing out of Eureka and Trinidad was decent this week but has dwindled over the past few days. The Pacific Halibut fishery is set to close tonight and will reopen on the 1st of August.

California Halibut – The California Halibut bite in the Humboldt Bay has kicked off. Multiple keepers have been caught over the past few days along the Samoa Bridge. The ticket has been live bait in 12-25ft of water.
