Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 8/19/2016
Rockfish – The Lingcod have been on the chew from Shelter Cove to the Cape. The Rockfish bite out of Trinidad has been decent when conditions allow.
Salmon – The King Salmon fishing out of Shelter Cove remains hit or miss. Most boat anglers have been mooching at the hat and most kayakers have been fishing along Deadman’s beach with mixed success. Some days there are easy limits with nice sized fish, but the next day only a couple fish are being caught. *King Salmon fishing is closed until September 1st from the Oregon border to Horse Mountain.
California Halibut – Anglers fishing for California Halibut will have the best chance under the Samoa bridge drifting live bait in 12-25ft of water. The bite is hot in Humboldt Bay with the best action coming in the afternoon around the low tide.
Pacific Halibut – Pacific Halibut fishing is closed until September 1st.
