Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 8/26/2016
Reports
Oceans:
Shelter Cove – The kayak fishermen out of Shelter Cove have been on an incredibly hot bite. One angler returned with two California Halibut, a Salmon, and an 8ft thresher all in one day. The bite has been along Deadmans in 10-20ft of water fishing live bait. Anglers scored well on Albacore last weekend and another run is expected this weekend as long as the ocean remains calm.
Eureka – With Pacific Halibut and King Salmon closed most anglers fishing out of Eureka are targeting California Halibut under the Samoa bridge or making runs down to the Cape for Rockfish. *King Salmon and Pacific Halibut fishing is closed until September 1st from the Oregon border to Horse Mountain.
Trinidad – The Rockfish bite has been pretty good this past week with nice schools of Rockfish and some nice sized Lingcod hanging around.
