Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 9/30/2016

Reports

Oceans:

Shelter Cove – Salmon fishing has been very slow over the past few weeks. The Rockfish bite is also slow with anglers having to work harder than usual for limits.

Eureka – The weather over the past week has prevented most anglers from fishing Cape Mendocino, but there is a short window this weekend that could provide anglers with a good shot. There are still a few California Halibut around the Samoa Bridge with reports of a couple large fish being caught.

Trinidad – The Rockfish bite out of Trinidad has been mediocre this past week. A few decent sized Lingcod have been caught but they are few and far between. The calmer conditions over the weekend may provide anglers with better success in catching Rockfish.

Rivers:

Klamath – The Salmon and Steelhead fishing has been unpredictable over the past week as the bite is hot one day and slow the next.

Trinity – The fishing has picked up this week with a good amount of Salmon making their way up the Trinity river system. With the lower flow, fish are sticking the the usual holes and anglers are having much better success.
