Humboldt’s Friday Fishing Report 9/9/2016

Reports

Oceans:

Shelter Cove – The windy conditions have prevented most anglers from venturing to Salmon grounds but the fishing has been stellar when conditions allow. The Rockfish bite remains a strong alternative when conditions are rough.

Eureka – With Salmon season closed Halibut and Rockfish has been the target for the past week. The Cape has been producing monster Lingcod over the past two weeks with a nice variety of Rockfish thrown in.

Trinidad – The Rockfish bite out of Trinidad has been hot whereas the Lingcod fishing has been mediocre over the past week. With the conditions laying down this weekend anglers may attempt a few Halibut runs.

Rivers:

Klamath – There has been a good amount of activity on the Klamath with a bunch of Steelhead making their way up the water system. Not as many Salmon around as usual but plenty of small Steelhead around.

Trinity – The Trinity fishing season is expected to be unique with a different amount of water being released compared to last year. Not many fish have shown up yet but its only a matter of time.
