Ocean Fishing Report 9/28/2014


Recent ocean conditions have been windy with large swells and there has been little fishing in the ocean.

Albacore Tuna Report

Albacore tuna is currently being sold at Woodley Island Marina dock A.

Tuna in the 20-35 lb range were reportedly caught about 60 miles out of Eureka near Punta Gorda around Sept. 25th.

Pacific halibut

The halibut bite has not been the most exciting but some in the 40 lb range have been landed between 200-300 ft. of water.

Rockfish/ Ling Cod

Reports for Rockfish and Ling Cod have been great when the weather permits.

RELAXING THE PRESSURE GRADIENT AND MOVING THROUGH THE AREA ON MONDAY. NORTHERLY WINDS AND THE SEAS WILL INCREASE TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY AS A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM STRENGTHENS BEHIND THE FRONT.
