River Fishing Report 10/2/2014


 

Trinity emergency flows have receded and Humboldt received its first rain of the season last week!

Roe and spinners have been working great.

 

Smith River

Fish reportedly entered the Smith River last week during the rain event but was closed on Oct. 1, 2014 for low flows.

Klamath River (Lower)

Although the the lower Klamath River is catch and release, reports are great for chrome bright King salmon as the run continues!

Klamath River (Mid)

The Klamath River fishing reports above the Weitchpec Bridge are doing good for salmon fishing and more fishermen are arriving. Regulations allow for 1 adult salmon. Native steelhead are catch and release.

Trinity River

Fishing reports have been great! Salmon and adult Steelhead in the 5-8 lb range are showing up from Willow Creek to the Junction City area. Most of the salmon are reported between Junction City and Hayden Flat.

Total combined Chinook increased from 861 to 1653. Total combined Steelhead increased from 23 to 65.

Willow Creek Weir Trapping Summary of total combined Chinook increased from 35 to 73. Total combined Steelhead increased from 56 to 227.

Trinity River Hatchery Trapping Summary of total combined Chinook increased from 861 to 1653.Total combined Steelhead increased from 23 to 65.
